Bhutan to Launch First International Travel Mart in June 2026

Bhutan will host its first-ever international travel trade event, the Bhutan International Travel Mart 2026, from 11–13 June 2026 in Thimphu. The event aims to strengthen Bhutan’s position as a high-value, sustainable tourism destination while fostering global partnerships.

Organised by the Department of Tourism Bhutan under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment Bhutan, with support from the Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators, the mart will serve as a B2B platform connecting international buyers, media, and tourism professionals with Bhutanese stakeholders.

The three-day event will act as a hub for networking, collaboration, and market expansion, while reinforcing Bhutan’s “high-value, low-volume” tourism policy. It will also feature a digital platform offering real-time updates and insights into Bhutan’s tourism offerings.

BITM 2026 will strongly emphasise sustainability, aligning with Bhutan’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness, focusing on environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community well-being. The event is expected to attract eco-conscious travellers and businesses seeking meaningful, immersive experiences.

In addition to boosting Bhutan’s global tourism profile, the mart is anticipated to create economic opportunities by connecting local businesses with international markets, encouraging investment, and supporting sector growth.

Overall, BITM represents a significant step in shaping the future of Bhutan’s tourism—balancing global engagement with sustainability and cultural integrity. Write to us if you are a Buyer or Exhibitor
