This tour centers on the Dochula Druk Wangyel Festival, established in 2011 to commemorate His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. The annual celebration takes place on December 13th at Dochula Pass, about 22km from Thimphu, on grounds with a stunning panoramic view of the Himalayan range. The nearby Druk Wangyal Lhakhang temple, built between 2004 and 2008, honors the Fourth King's leadership and Bhutan's Armed Forces.
