Widely described as the most popular trek in Bhutan, the Jhomolhari Trek traverses elevations from 2,500m to nearly 5,000m through Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park and remote yak-herder settlements. The route passes through diverse landscapes, wildlife, and plant life on its way to sweeping views of Mount Jomolhari.

Paro

Trek begins along the Paro Chhu river valley.

First camp on the river trail.

Thangthangkha

A long climb through forest into the high valley.

Jangothang

Jomolhari base camp, with panoramic mountain views.

Day 6

Nyile La Pass

The trek's highest point, crossing into the remote Lingshi region.

Lingshi

High pastures beneath Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park peaks.

Day 8

Barshong

Descend through Shodu toward Barshong.

Day 9

Dolam Kencho

Trek ends at the trailhead; drive on to Thimphu.
